Please research and prepare a 5-minute speech
to defend an opinion or convince others of a particular viewpoint. (Pre-class
activities required)
Feel
free to pick one of the following topics that include your opinion or that
convinces others on implementing new regulations.
Suggestions:

Should drones be used extensively in the civilian world?

Should the government in Brazil stop drilling the "pré-sal" after the
Petrobras scandal?

Should the international community deliver weapons to the Kurds against ISIS?

Should the government act on the popular movements that have
taken the country streets and consider the Impeachment of president
Jair Bolsonaro?
· Rio de Janeiro will host the 2016 Olympics games. For example: Say if you agree with this choice, or if you
believe that Salvador would be a better pick to host the event. Then research
about both cities, provide arguments, give pros and cons, which support
your city of choice.
Keep in mind that, for any of these subjects suggested
above or anything you may like to discuss, a full search is required. Learn
as much as you can about the matter; weight on pros and cons, verify
many aspects, different points of view, challenge the points of view you may
disagree, reinforce the ones you agree with, justifying why you do
so, and bring to your speech any other factor that may support your
perspective on the matter. Your discourse have to present an introduction on
the subject, providing a summary on what the one is expected
to encounter later on the speech. Then, develop it, by extend this
summary, providing key elements for this debate, then give your input on
the matter, defending all the reasons why you have this perspective on the
subject. It
has to be clear, concise, and coherent.
